A real framework, a real studio, and nothing to prove it
VisCom Studios has what almost no studio in the East Bay has: a named 9-Step Marketing Framework, a lead-magnet funnel, nine format pages, 27 sample videos, and a booking calendar on every page. Google already returns it as the #1 result for "video production Concord CA" in the local pack. And a buyer who lands there finds four reviews, no case studies, no client names, and a site that ranks for zero buyer-intent keywords.
The foundation is split three ways. The entity is fragmented across three addresses and six phone numbers, with "Walnut Creek" in every page title and a Clutch profile that sends visitors to a competitor's website. There is no proof anywhere — no logos, no numbers, four Google reviews in six years. And the funnel leaks: the headline lead forms accept a first name with no email, all six PDFs are downloadable without a form, the booking button leaves the domain, and not one visit is measured because no analytics are installed.
[ Data verified ] Live fetch of all 46 viscomstudios.com URLs, open REST API, Google Places API, BonsaiX Site Explorer and keyword data, seven AI-engine buyer prompts, Wayback, Clutch, LinkedIn, Concord Chamber — pulled September 1, 2026.
The headline opportunity. Three moves drive most of the upside: (1) own the Concord pack — claim and complete the Google Business Profile, fix the citations that still carry the old Mason Circle address, correct the Clutch link, and take reviews from 4 to 20 in sixty days; (2) point the nine format pages that already exist at the Bay Area service terms studio pages win — testimonial, explainer, brand, corporate, podcast, green-screen rental — with schema, meta and a case study each; (3) make the framework provable with three case studies carrying one number apiece, so AI engines and buyers can answer "why VisCom?"
The seven questions, answered
- Biggest opportunity? The Concord map pack and the "near me" family — VisCom is already Google's top relevance pick there; the entire pack median is one review.
- Biggest threat? A co-located listing, a competitor link on Clutch, and six citations with the wrong address — Google is being told two studios share one door, and the reviews VisCom earns could land on the wrong profile.
- Where is revenue left on the table? The lead magnets. Four headline forms collect no email, and every PDF is public — the funnel captures nothing it could be nurturing.
- Fix first? Entity cleanup, the GBP, analytics, and form rules — all inside 30 days, no rebuild.
- Fastest path to growth? Reviews to 20 plus the Clutch and Yelp fixes — visibility VisCom already has, converted into trust.
- Immediate AI advantage? AI engines can already describe VisCom from LinkedIn; a schema graph, FAQ pages and three case studies turn "describe" into "recommend."
- What would Bonsai prioritize first? Phase 1 of the roadmap in §14 — all of it ships in 30 days.
Strategy-first video, anonymous by omission
Verified: VisCom Studios is the video arm of Deal Quiver, Inc., Don Wexler's Lafayette-based holding group (Blast My Biz, VisCom Studios, Social Camelot, Lightwave Mobile, Business Acceleration Group). Clutch and LinkedIn date the studio to 2011; the YouTube channel joined December 2010; the current domain was registered in December 2017 and the site says "© 2018." The studio sits at 1110 Burnett Ave, Suite E, Concord. Don's own bio — four decades of business experience, a first company launched and sold in his twenties, co-founder of Business Acceleration Group — lives on businessaccelerationgroup.net and nowhere on viscomstudios.com.
Three lanes, all confirmed on-site: strategy-led marketing video for SMBs, coaches, consultants and professional services; nine production formats (AI & motion graphics, custom sets, event, green screen, interview, podcast, product demo, remote interview, in-studio vs on-location); and a white-label program for agencies with "wholesale pricing." Wrapped around it, a lead-magnet funnel — Resonance Scorecard, Content That Converts Planner, Brain-Type Quiz, and per-format decision guides — that no local competitor runs.
What competitors can't copy
- A named framework. Nine steps in three phases, fully enumerated on /process/. Every other Concord and Walnut Creek studio sells footage.
- A studio with prebuilt and custom sets, green screen, and multi-participant remote recording — "up to 8 participants in multiple locations," per the site.
- A founder with a four-decade operator story — currently invisible on the studio's own domain.
Recommended positioning: "The East Bay's strategy-first video studio — built on a 9-step framework, proven in numbers." Keep the framework as the spine; let testimonial video, explainer video, podcast production and white-label for agencies be the search doors into it. Drop "of Walnut Creek" — the studio is in Concord, and the term has ten searches a month.
The city terms are empty — the pack and the Bay Area service terms are not
"video production concord ca" has zero monthly searches. So does "corporate video production bay area." The demand lives in three places: the "near me" family that the map pack decides, the San Francisco / Bay Area modifiers at Medium difficulty, and service-type terms where a single studio page wins. Strategy: roughly 40% local pack (GBP, citations, reviews) / 60% service pages with a Bay Area modifier, plus one authority lane for agencies.
| Keyword | Vol/mo | CPC | Difficulty | Intent | Verdict |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| video production near me | 4,800 | $13.28 | 31 · Hard | Tx | Won in the pack, not on a page — the GBP is the lane |
| video production services near me | 2,400 | $10.31 | — | Tx | Same — pack + reviews |
| video production san francisco | 964 | $20.05 | 16 · Med | Tx | Studio-winnable; needs a Bay Area page |
| video production company bay area | 194 | $16.64 | 14 · Med | Tx | Primary regional target |
| corporate video production company | 462 | $11.79 | 39 · Hard | Com | National; cluster potential 27,980 |
| testimonial video production | 143 | $39.87 | 32 · Hard | Inf | The Bay Area variant is difficulty 7 — one page wins it |
| explainer video company | 508 | $17.32 | 49 · Hard | Com | Bay Area variant is studio-winnable |
| brand video production | 258 | $25.80 | 31 · Hard | Inf | Custom-sets / in-studio pages |
| green screen studio rental | ~90 | $2.71 | 5 · Easy | Tx | VisCom owns the studio — one page, easiest win in the plan |
| podcast video production | 63 | $21.07 | 50 · Hard | Inf | Podcast page exists; retarget it |
| white label video production | ~10 | $11.72 | 14 · Med | Inf | Tiny volume, zero Bay Area competition — authority lane |
| video production walnut creek | ~10 | — | 26 · Med | Com | The term in every title tag today |
| video production concord ca | 0 | — | 47 · Hard | Com | Pack only — no page needed |
[ Data verified ] BonsaiX keyword data, September 1, 2026. Volumes are US monthly averages; difficulty 0–100. "Bay Area" service variants report near-zero tracked volume but were observed as studio-won SERPs.
What that demand is worth
Assumptions stated: average project ≈ $6,000 (below Luma Creative's published $5k–$30k floor and Vidico's $5k–$20k explainer range; VisCom publishes no pricing); retainer clients ≈ $3,000/mo (below Kasey Bruce Media's published $4k–$8k); agency accounts ≈ $4,000/mo; 25% close on booked strategy calls; 2% booked-call rate on qualified visits; current inbound assumed near zero given zero organic traffic and no tracking.
| 12-month scenario | Mechanics | New revenue |
|---|---|---|
| Conservative | Entity cleanup + reviews to 20 + schema + tracking → pack leadership → 3–5 booked calls/mo by month 6 → ~1 project/mo | ~$72k |
| Moderate | + nine format pages rebuilt for Bay Area service terms + 3 case studies → 6–10 calls/mo → 2 projects/mo + 2 retainers | ~$216k |
| Aggressive | + white-label lane + green-screen rental + podcast lane → 12–18 calls/mo → 3 projects/mo + 3 retainers + 2 agency accounts | ~$420k |
Sanity check: the market already pays $39.87 a click on "testimonial video production" and $44.28 on "commercial video production company." Ranking a page VisCom already has is the cheapest arbitrage in this plan.
Directories gate the city terms; studios win the Bay Area terms
Local and East Bay field
| Competitor | Position | Proof | Weakness · gap |
|---|---|---|---|
| Fast Focus Films Walnut Creek | Wedding and event videography | Google 5.0 (55) — leads the Walnut Creek pack | Not a corporate-video competitor; wins on review volume alone |
| Maximize Video Oakland, since 2007 | "High-quality video that performs"; explicit Agency Partnerships page | Apple logo, 7 case studies, LocalBusiness schema, Google 5.0 (13) | The only local studio naming an agency lane — and it isn't white-label |
| Kasey Bruce Media SF, Walnut Creek location page | "Turn cold strangers into buyers with a consistent creative system" | North Face 4M views; Google, DoorDash logos; publishes $4k–$8k/mo retainers | Closest strategic analog; ranks a Walnut Creek page from San Francisco — VisCom is the one actually nearby |
| East Bay Video Oakland | "Building your brand one video at a time" | OpenAI, Kaiser + 16 logos; 3 named testimonials | Ranks #1 and #3 for "video production East Bay" on a logo wall — no schema, no blog, no verified Google reviews |
| Level 2 Productions San Francisco | "The premier video partner for AI & tech events" | Yelp 5.0 (54); "90+ reviews, est. 2012" | Owns one niche; beatable outside it |
| Take One Video Concord — VisCom's own suite | Videography, headshots, media transfers; a separate business, est. 1985 | 38 Yelp reviews; Google 0 reviews; LocalBusiness schema; links to viscomstudios.com | Different owners, same address, same category, different phone — a duplicate-entity risk until reconciledNeeds confirmation |
National strategy-led and white-label field
| Competitor | Position | Why they matter |
|---|---|---|
| Vidico | Tech explainer; quiz-to-estimate funnel; $5k/mo subscription | Runs VisCom's exact quiz mechanic — with 4.9 from 100+ reviews, 920+ brands and five case studies carrying percentage lifts |
| What a Story | B2B SaaS video from $3,500; listed under Walnut Creek on DesignRush | Same quiz → call funnel, 650+ brands, 100+ founder testimonials |
| Sunday Treat | White-label for agencies (London) | Ranks on FAQPage + Service schema and a two-model offer: fully white-label vs named partner, NDA crews, 2–10 day turnaround |
| VID (Video Supply) | White-label for agencies | Sells the margin math — "40–50% margin," "$270,000+ launch" — with AggregateRating schema |
| Lemonlight Partners | Agency partner program, 80+ markets | Named partner case studies and a 2-hour response promise |
Market structure: page one for "video production Concord CA" and "Walnut Creek" is directory-mediated — Yelp, Thumbtack, ProductionHub, DesignRush, Pandia, BBB — plus out-of-area location-page farms. VisCom is on Pandia, Yahoo Local, and an unreviewed Clutch profile only. "East Bay," "Bay Area" and San Francisco service terms are won by studio pages. The white-label lane has no Bay Area player on page one at all.

The honest balance sheet
Strengths
- Named 9-Step Framework — unique in the local set
- Studio with custom sets, green screen, 8-participant remote recording
- Nine format pages, eight lead magnets, 27 samples already built
- One consistent booking CTA on every page
- Already Google's #1 relevance result in the Concord pack
- Server-rendered site, fast at the edge, correct redirects and 404s
Weaknesses
- 4 Google reviews in six years; 0 Clutch; 0 Yelp; 0 case studies; 0 logos
- Zero analytics; zero schema; zero meta descriptions; no H1 on the homepage
- Lead forms don't require email; all six PDFs are public
- Three addresses, six phones, "Walnut Creek" in every title
- Placeholder testimonials, a "Hello world!" blog and a Coming Soon page indexed
- No About page, no person named, social icons that link nowhere, email on a sister domain
Opportunities
- Concord pack median is 1 review — 20 reviews leads it outright
- "near me" family: 7,200 searches/mo decided in the pack
- Bay Area service terms are studio-winnable; "green screen studio rental" is Easy (5)
- White-label for agencies: no Bay Area competitor on page one
- AI engines already describe VisCom accurately when asked directly
Threats
- Clutch profile sends buyers to lambproductions.com
- Co-located Take One Video listing and six old-address citations confuse the entity
- Location-page farms (Blare, Beverly Boy, Kasey Bruce) hold the Concord/Walnut Creek organic slots
- 251 of 256 referring domains are spam networks
- Every month unmeasured is a month the framework can't prove itself
Good bones, nothing on the pages for machines to read
The structural verdict: the site does not need rebuilding. It is server-rendered WordPress on the Breakdance builder, delivered from a Cloudflare edge in under 60 ms, with correct redirects and real 404s. Everything wrong is on the pages — titles, meta, headings, schema, alt text, forms, tracking, proof — not under them.
| Check | Observed across all 46 URLs |
|---|---|
| Meta descriptions | 0 of 46 pages |
| Open Graph / social cards | 0 of 46 pages — every share and every AI citation card renders blank |
| Structured data | 0 blocks sitewide — no LocalBusiness, Organization, VideoObject, FAQ or Review |
| H1 | Missing on 11 pages, including the homepage (the hero is an H2) |
| Image alt text | 0 attributes sitewide; every video iframe has an empty title |
| Title tags | WordPress defaults, 82–106 characters; homepage 195 characters; "of Walnut Creek" on every one |
| Indexable placeholders | 3 placeholder testimonials, 5 duplicate decision-guide pages, 9 thank-you pages, a Coming Soon page, a "Hello world!" post, a privacy policy reading "Change Site Title" |
| Security headers | 0 of 6 (no HSTS, CSP, X-Frame-Options, X-Content-Type-Options, Referrer-Policy, Permissions-Policy) |
| Render path | 18 stylesheets; body hidden until JavaScript runs; reCAPTCHA loaded twice; 155 KB of scripts; Google Fonts not self-hosted |
| Origin speed | 2.2 s cold at the origin, masked by a 30-day HTML edge cache that also freezes form tokens |
Working
- Fully server-rendered — AI crawlers can read every word
- Edge response under 60 ms; brotli; WebP images with lazy loading
- http→https and www→non-www redirects correct; unknown URLs return a real 404
- Clean nav architecture: nine formats, three offers, agencies, process
Broken
- Footer phone displays (925) 255-5195 but dials 255-5191; a (208) Idaho number sits in the mobile menu on every pageNeeds confirmation
- Only email is dwexler@blastmybiz.com — no @viscomstudios.com address anywhere; the three footer social icons link nowhere
- Copy defects: "polish.4", "San Franisco", "LGreen Screen", a double period in the copyright line
- Site timezone set to UTC; admin username exposed at /author/thayne/
Fix: retitle all 46 pages, write 46 meta descriptions, add H1s, alt text and a schema graph, noindex the 14 placeholder and utility URLs, fix the phone links and email, cut the edge cache to hours, and remove the hidden-body behaviour. One sprint, no rebuild.
Six months after relaunch, nothing ranks
The site relaunched around February 2026. Today it tracks 7 keywords, 0 estimated visits, and 0 positions in the top 20. The seven: "viscom," "viscomm," "vitcom photos," "studiocom," "video creation services norfolk." Not one is a buyer term. Only three pages rank for anything: the homepage, /agencies/ and /contact-us/.
- Metadata: no SEO plugin; WordPress default titles branded "of Walnut Creek"; no descriptions; canonical missing on /blog/ and the category archive.
- Content: nine format pages at 570–932 words with no target term, no city or region, no FAQ; five decision-guide pages that are the same 698 words; one blog post ("Hello world!", February 2024) sitting in the main nav as "Things To Know."
- Backlinks: 2,300 links from 256 domains — 251 of them spam networks (.sbs, .top, .cfd, .monster). Five real links: Yellow Pages, Concord Chamber (two), Take One Video, a community page. Disavow, then earn the directory links that gate page one.
- Tracking: no Search Console evidence, no analytics of any kind — the first SEO task is installing the ability to see.

AI can describe VisCom. It won't recommend it.
Seven buyer prompts were run through an AI search engine with the location set to Concord. VisCom was named in 2 of 7 — once on the direct brand query, once when the answer pulled the Google listing. On the question it should own — "Which Bay Area studios offer video strategy or a marketing framework, not just filming?" — AI named five other studios and not VisCom.
| Question an AI is asked | Can it answer today? |
|---|---|
| What does VisCom Studios do? | Yes from LinkedIn and four /work/ pages — accurately |
| Where is it? | Confused Concord (Google) · Walnut Creek (titles) · Lafayette (Facebook, parent company) · Mason Circle (citations) |
| How long has it been around? | Confused 2011 · 2012 · 2017 · 2018 · "15+ years" |
| Why hire them over Maximize or Kasey Bruce? | No no reviews to cite, no case studies, no numbers |
| Best video studio in Concord? | No AI named Take One Video — at VisCom's own address — and not VisCom |
Why competitors surface: they carry LocalBusiness, FAQPage and VideoObject schema; they hold review volume on Google and Yelp; their service pages name a city or region; and they sit on the directories AI answers cite. VisCom has none of the four, and /llms.txt returns 404.
Fix path: a schema graph (LocalBusiness, Organization, a Person entry for Don, VideoObject on all 27 samples, FAQPage on every format page), an About page, one founding line, one address everywhere, three case studies, and llms.txt. AI Search Readiness moves from 3/10 toward 8/10 in two phases.

Three addresses, six phones, and one profile to claim
The Google Business Profile is the biggest quick win in this report. VisCom Studios · 5.0 · 4 reviews · "Video production service in Concord" · Mon–Fri 11–6 · 10 photos, the panel image dated 2019. Google already returns it as the #1 relevance result for "video production Concord CA." The panel shows the "Own this business?" link Google displays on unclaimed profiles.Needs confirmation
| Address | Where it still appears |
|---|---|
| 1110 Burnett Ave, Suite E, Concord 94520 (current) | Site, Google, Concord Chamber, LinkedIn, Yahoo Local — and Take One Video's own schema |
| 125 Mason Circle, Suite E, Concord (2019–2023) | Yelp, Yellow Pages, Superpages, DexKnows, Clutch, allbiz |
| 3527 / 3559 Mt. Diablo Blvd #395, Lafayette | Parent company, Social Camelot, the old site; Facebook shows "Lafayette, CA" |
- Two studios at one door: Take One Video — a separate business — occupied 125 Mason Circle and then 1110 Burnett on the same timeline as VisCom, links to viscomstudios.com, and carries the identical Google category at the same suite. VisCom works inside Take One's studio; Google has not been told which is which.Needs confirmation
- Six phone numbers across the web: (925) 255-5195 is canonical; the site's own footer link dials 255-5191; a (208) number sits in the mobile menu; Take One's listing at the same suite carries (925) 891-9822.
- Reviews everywhere: Google 4 · Clutch "Not yet reviewed" · Yelp unclaimed, 0 reviews, old addressNeeds confirmation · BBB no profile · not on Thumbtack, ProductionHub, DesignRush, UpCity or GoodFirms.
- The Clutch profile's website field points to lambproductions.com — a Concord competitor. One field, zero cost, and Clutch sits on page one for explainer terms.
- Review moat is on the floor: the Concord pack's median is 1 review; 6 of 15 businesses have none. Twenty reviews leads Concord outright and competes in Walnut Creek against a wedding videographer at 55.
- Founding line: Clutch and LinkedIn say 2011, YouTube joined 2010, the domain is 2017, the site says 2018 and "15+ years." Pick one — "video studio since 2011" — and say it everywhere.

A good funnel, leaking at every joint
The architecture is right: one booking CTA repeated 148 times, a contact form that asks project type and timeline, and eight lead magnets. The execution loses almost everything it captures.
| Element | Today | Recommendation |
|---|---|---|
| Lead-magnet forms | Four headline forms require a first name only — email optional — while promising "Get Your Assessment Immediately in Email" | Email required on all four; instant delivery; booking link in the reply |
| The PDFs | All six downloadable without a form from the uploads folder | Serve them through delivery only; noindex the thank-you pages |
| Primary CTA | "Schedule Brainstorm" → a booking page on the parent company's domain, vendor unknown, page titled "Calendar" | Embed or subdomain the calendar under viscomstudios.com; fire a booking event |
| Measurement | No analytics, no tag manager, no call tracking, no pixels | GA4 + GTM, form and booking events, call tracking on 255-5195 — day one |
| Trust at decision | No founder, no logos, no reviews on the page, a wrong phone link in the footer | Don's photo and "you'll talk with Don" beside every form; review strip; case card above the form |
| Follow-up | Unobservable — no CRM script, no autoresponder evidenceNeeds confirmation | Form → CRM → founder-voice reply → 3-touch proof sequence |
Offer ladder: free scorecard → 30-minute brainstorm (exists) → a productized Message Diagnostic built from the Resonance Scorecard → project or retainer → the white-label agency program.
The plumbing is the opportunity
- Lead intake → CRM → instant founder-voice reply with the booking link, for all ten forms.
- Pre-call briefs auto-generated for every brainstorm booking — the prospect's site, video presence and competitors researched before Don picks up.
- Resonance Scorecard as a real diagnostic — turn the PDF into an interactive assessment that scores the prospect's message and books the call.
- Review-request automation at project close, with the direct Google and Clutch links.
- Case-study drafts from project notes; VideoObject and FAQ schema generated per sample and per page.
- Content repurposing — each case study becomes founder and company LinkedIn posts on a set cadence; each sample becomes a YouTube upload on an owned channel.
- AI-visibility and pack-rank monitoring — monthly share-of-voice on the seven buyer prompts and the Concord / Walnut Creek pack.
A strong offer on a weak foundation — not a verdict
Coral ticks mark the 12-month targets under the roadmap in §14.
The first five dimensions score current state (higher = stronger today). The last three score headroom (higher = more opportunity to capture). Scores are directional, built from the verified findings in §6–§12.

The first five moves
- Confirm whether the Google Business Profile is claimed, then claim or verify it and set categories, services and hours.
- Change the website field on the Clutch profile from lambproductions.com to viscomstudios.com and correct the Mason Circle address there, on Yelp and on Yellow Pages.
- Install GA4 and call tracking, make email required on the four headline forms, and move the six PDFs behind delivery.
- Approve the retitle of all 46 pages — "of Walnut Creek" out, target terms in — with meta descriptions and H1s.
- Send the first twenty review requests to clients from the last two years, and pick the three case-study clients.
Bottom line for Don. You already own the hardest things to build in this market: a real framework, a real studio, a full set of format pages and lead magnets, and a Google listing that already outranks every Concord competitor on relevance. What's missing is the evidence layer — one clean entity, reviews, case studies, schema, and the ability to measure a single visit. None of it requires a rebuild. That foundation is buildable in 90 days.
Let's talk about fixing the foundation.
Thirty minutes. We'll walk through this assessment, answer your questions, and map what the first three weeks look like — starting with the Google Business Profile and the Clutch fix.
